Did you know that...

The "ganterie grenobloise" refers to the tradition of glove-making in Grenoble, France. It was an important industry in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The gloves (Fr: gants) produced in Grenoble were reknowned for their quality and elegance, and the Grenoble glove-making industry has been recognised as one of the best in the world.

The expression can also refer to the culture and savoir-faire associated with glove-making in Grenoble. These gloves were often handmade, with special attention paid to details, fine materials and design.

Although the glove-making industry has declined over the years, some workshops and companies in Grenoble are still carrying on the tradition, producing high-quality gloves. Thus, the "ganterie grenobloise" represents not only a historic industry, but also a cultural and craft heritage that lives on in the region.
